Eleanor Magennis

Eleanor Magennis is the Director of Estates and Infrastructure at The Glasgow School of Art overseeing Estates and Digital Strategies.

Eleanor is a Chartered Architect. After 10 years as a Project Architect at Glasgow City Council, she has spent the last 26 years in Higher Education (at the University of Strathclyde, University of Glasgow and since September 2020 The Glasgow School of Art) leading on strategic planning of the estate, effective space management, innovative learning / academic space design, post occupancy evaluations, championing inclusive design, business continuity and health and safety.

Eleanor has also worked on a number of sector wide projects in Higher Education.

Eleanor is currently Chair of the Scottish Association of Directors of Estates and Deputy Chair and Trustee of the University Design Forum.
