Towards sustainable campuses for Europe's universities

This presentation offers an overview of the European University Association’s work on university campus and real estate. As European universities steer through the green and digital transitions, the campus becomes a major point of attention of both policymakers and the sector alike. This contribution explores the findings of EUA’s latest Europe-wide survey on universities’ greening strategies and activities, considering the place of real estate in that context. It also sheds light on the regulatory frameworks that constrain or create opportunities for universities to strategically manage their real estate, and examine the financial challenges connected to investment in campuses.
