Learning Environment Zurich
Several Universities face increasing pressure to use infrastructure more efficiently due to rising student numbers and limited resources. Shared Spaces offer a flexible solution through dynamic, collaborative use of learning environments. In the project Learning Environments Zurich, representatives from several Zurich universities are jointly developing digital solutions for a connected and future-oriented learning landscape. The project focuses on the cross-institutional use of student workspaces and supports more sustainable space utilization. In this workshop, participants will co-develop ideas for inclusive, connected learning spaces that go beyond institutional boundaries.

Fostering Innovation Districts: Estate Management in Europe and the UK
Universities across the world are facing competition for students and funding while being asked to deliver wider economic and societal impact. As a response universities are fostering the growth of Innovation Districts to stimulate research innovation, economic development and wider societal improvements. Drawing on extensive benchmarking, this presentation explores physical changes that university campuses can make to enable the formation of Innovation Districts. It will compare estate management strategies across the UK and Europe, using examples from ETH Zurich, Imperial College London, and the Switzerland Innovation Parks, among others, to guide estate planning across various institutional environments.
